Attacked, robbed and threatened with a hammer during a “deal”

The situation escalated completely after a fake drug deal in Innsbruck on Saturday night: a Syrian man (24) was attacked and robbed by a fellow countryman and a stranger. In the end, the victim was also threatened with a hammer. The 24-year-old and a companion suffered injuries.

The scene of the robbery was the notorious Bogenmeile after a "fake drug sale" had taken place shortly beforehand, according to the police. According to the investigators, the 24-year-old Syrian was violently pulled to the ground by a fellow countryman (23) and a currently unknown perpetrator and consequently injured by punches and kicks.

Fanny pack and jacket stolen
During the attack, the victim's fanny pack containing various IDs and payment cards as well as a high-priced jacket were stolen. "The victim was then dangerously threatened with a hammer if he reported the robbery to the police," the investigators continued.

Companion injured with hammer
The 24-year-old Syrian suffered serious injuries as a result of the attack. A companion of the victim was slightly injured with a hammer by one of the suspects. Further investigations are underway.
