On matchday 13 in Germany's Bundesliga, VfL Wolfsburg, coached by Ralph Hasenhüttl, fought their way to a 4:3 victory against FSV Mainz 05. In a wild game in which the lead changed hands regularly, it was Jonas Wind who turned the game in the "Wolves'" favor with his goals in the 83rd minute and in the last minute of stoppage time. 

VfL Wolfsburg showed great comeback qualities in the German Bundesliga on Sunday. Although coach Ralph Hasenhüttl's team trailed three times in the home game of the 13th round against FSV Mainz 05, they still fought their way to a 4:3 last-minute victory in front of just over 20,000 spectators. Wolfsburg's fifth success in a row in a competitive match moved them up to fifth place in the table.

Wind becomes the match winner
Jonas Wind, who came on as a substitute for ÖFB team player Patrick Wimmer during the break, turned out to be the match-winner for the hosts, who were unbeaten in eight competitive matches. The striker scored a brace in the final minute (84', 94'), scoring the match-winning goal with his head from Maximilian Arnold's free-kick. Mohamed Amoura (19) had previously scored and Andreas Hanche-Olsen (57) had conceded an own goal. On the Mainz side, a brace from Paul Nebel (11th, 66th) and a goal from Jonathan Burkardt (39th) were not enough to bring home any points.

Burkardt drew level with record scorer Karim Onisiwo in Mainz's all-time Bundesliga scoring list with his 33rd goal. The 32-year-old former Austrian international was absent through injury, Phillipp Mwene played through and Nikolas Veratschnig was not used. It was the first defeat for ninth-placed Mainz after three league wins and five unbeaten games.
