Due to fogged windshield: accident in tunnel

Serious traffic accident on Thursday morning in Tyrol! Three cars collided in the Landeck tunnel due to a fogged windshield. Luckily, only one driver (76) was slightly injured. 

At around 10.30 a.m., a local man (76) was driving north in his car coming from the direction of Fließ. "When entering the tunnel, the windshield suddenly fogged up, causing the driver to drive his car beyond the middle of the road and hit the oncoming vehicle of a 53-year-old Austrian," according to the police.

Only the 76-year-old was not uninjured
As a result of the collision, the 53-year-old's car was pushed onto a vehicle behind it, driven by a 35-year-old Tyrolean. "The 76-year-old was slightly injured, all others involved were unharmed," said the police.

Tunnel had to be closed
The 76-year-old's and 53-year-old's vehicles sustained considerable damage, while the 35-year-old's vehicle sustained minor damage. The 76-year-old was taken to hospital in Zams after first aid by the emergency doctor. The Landeck Tunnel was closed to all traffic from 10.30 to 11.40 a.m. while the accident was being investigated.
