Bank robber caught after three days, loot missing

A bank robber in Linz was only able to "enjoy" his loot for three days. Because on Saturday shortly before 6 a.m., a 20-year-old was woken from his dreams and arrested. The young man had robbed a bank in Linz-Kleinmünchen on Wednesday. 

That was quick! After the mugshots of the fugitive bank robber who held up the VKB branch in Zeppelinstraße on Wednesday were published on Friday, the handcuffs were already clicking. A 20-year-old from Linz is strongly suspected of having committed the robbery - armed with a knife.

Arrested at home
He was arrested at his home address at around 5.35 am on Saturday on the basis of a court-approved arrest warrant issued by the Linz public prosecutor's office and subsequently transferred to Linz prison. The young man confessed.

Information from the public
He has no criminal record and said that he came up with the idea of robbing the bank because of an acute shortage of money. Information from the public had put the police on the trail of the 20-year-old. The murder weapon was recovered in the apartment - not far from the bank, by the way. However, there is still no trace of the loot, a small four-figure sum.
