Republicans probably have majority in the USA

The Republican Party of US President-elect Donald Trump will probably control both chambers of Congress. This was predicted by the election analysis portal Decision Desk HQ on Monday. The majorities open up far-reaching opportunities for Trump to push through his political agenda.

According to the forecast, the Republicans hold at least 218 seats (out of 435) in the House of Representatives, with eight votes still outstanding. According to Edison Research, the party has already secured a majority of at least 52 to 46 seats in the Senate.

The remaining Senate seat for the US state of Arizona has now gone to the Democratic candidate Ruben Callego. He is a liberal candidate for Arizona.

In addition, Trump's position is strengthened by a 6:3 majority in the Supreme Court. Three judges have been appointed by him.

No success for Biden
In Trump's first term in office (2017 to 2021), comprehensive tax cuts were introduced. These expire next year and could now be extended. Democratic President Joe Biden, on the other hand, has had little success with legislation in the past two years of divided government. Congress even had difficulties securing funding for government operations.
