Underpass “flooded” with two tons of carrots

Curious operation on Wednesday afternoon in Schwaz in the Tyrolean lowlands: an underpass in Bahnhofstraße was literally flooded with carrots. A tractor had lost part of its load. Due to the "orange flood", the road was closed for almost an hour.

The curious incident occurred at around 1.30 pm. A 53-year-old local man was driving a tractor and a trailer loaded with eight tons of carrots on Bahnhofstraße in Schwaz.

"In the railroad underpass there, a board of a transport box suddenly broke, causing part of the load to fall from the trailer onto the road. This involved around two tons of carrots," said the police.

As a result, the underpass had to be closed for 45 minutes by a police patrol.

Workers removed the "orange tide"
The underpass then had to be closed to traffic for around 45 minutes by the police. "The lost load was removed from the roadway by the contractor's workers," the statement concluded.
