Speeders, drunk drivers and firecrackers on Halloween

The Salzburg police carried out an increased number of traffic checks on Halloween night: Several drivers were driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Speeding drivers and firework throwers were also stopped. Around 50 charges were filed. 

There were no major incidents in Salzburg on the night of the spooky party. However, the police were able to stop several traffic offenders. 

A 66-year-old man from Flachgau had his license taken away because he was driving under the influence and could not even produce a driver's license. A 24-year-old from Salzburg was under the influence of drugs.

In addition, a 16-year-old was drunk and driving without a license in his mom's car and really stepped on the gas. 

Speeders stopped in the 50 zone
Two drivers were speeding through the 50 km/h zone in the city of Salzburg and in Hallwang at 50 and 40 km/h respectively. The two speeders must now expect to have to surrender their driving licenses. 

Flood of reports on Halloween night
There were a total of 29 reports and twelve organ mandates during the traffic raids. The police also targeted firecracker throwers during further checks. 23 people were reported under the Pyrotechnics Act and various firecrackers were seized.
