Lower Austrian motor manufacturer powers public transportation worldwide

Berlin, Sydney, Milan, Sarajevo: in many countries, drive systems for subway trains and the like come from Wiener Neudorf. However, the market leader is now also venturing into electric motors outside of rail vehicles.

Anyone using electric public transport on vacation has a good chance of being transported by an electric motor from Wiener Neudorf. This is because Traktionssysteme Austria (TSA) is the world's leading manufacturer of such drives. But you don't have to travel all that far for this. Wiener Linien also relies on quality from Lower Austria. There was even an anniversary recently: the 5000th engine was manufactured for the federal capital.

This is not the only milestone that the company, which was founded in 1960, has recently celebrated. TSA engines were installed for the first time in the streetcars of Sarajevo in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Previously, there had already been lucrative orders in Milan, Berlin and Sydney.

Now also light commercial vehicles
While the company's history has so far focused mainly on rail vehicles, it has recently broken new ground. In cooperation with a Swiss company, the company is now also able to convert light commercial vehicles for the road to electric. "We see great potential. With our products, we will conquer this market niche and other sales markets," says TSA, looking optimistically to the future.
