“I save electricity and still have to pay more”

How can that be? A man from Salzburg was completely perplexed when he looked at his bill. He used almost 14 percent less electricity than in the previous year - yet he will have to pay his supplier more money in future than before. Many other customers could face this dilemma.

Harald Fekete had to grin at first. The Salzburg resident recently received his annual bill from Salzburg AG. According to his provider, he had used 14 percent less electricity. Fekete was also pleased to receive a credit note of 135 euros from the previous year. Disillusionment followed at the end of the letter: the Salzburg resident will have to pay more per month in future than before - electricity savings or not!
