Man falls asleep in the toilet and has to be rescued

A visitor to the Wiesenmarkt had to be freed from a toilet by the St. Veit fire department. The man was suddenly trapped in the toilet facilities after a long nap in the loo. 

The St. Veit fire brigade was called out to open a door at the St. Veit meadow market in the early hours of Sunday morning. A man had fallen asleep while using the toilet. "The nap in the toilet probably lasted several hours," said the emergency services.

Because the closing time is 3 a.m., the outside doors of the toilets were locked. "The emergency services were alerted by the regional alarm and warning center at around 5.30 am," says Wolfgang Hinteregger from the St. Veit fire brigade. The man drew attention to himself by knocking loudly.

The man was freed immediately, he was a little confused.

"The man was freed immediately, he was a little confused," Hinteregger continues, describing the unusual operation. But what is criticized: "The only strange thing is that nobody checked whether there was anyone else in the toilet facilities."
