Drunk man flees from the police on the highway

A Syrian man had a wild chase with the police on the A12 Inntal highway in the Tyrolean lowlands on Saturday evening: The 38-year-old had sped past a patrol and ignored signs to stop. He was eventually stopped. A breathalyzer test was positive.

The Syrian overtook a police patrol at "significantly excessive speed" on the A12 near Kramsach (Kufstein district) shortly before 9 pm. The officers immediately gave chase - but the 38-year-old suspect was unimpressed.

Evasive maneuver on the emergency lane
"During the pursuit, the driver swerved onto the emergency lane several times and ignored the request to stop his vehicle despite clear signs," said the investigators.

The driver denied any wrongdoing. A breathalyzer test revealed considerable alcoholization.
