Austria's sports stars dressed up on Thursday evening. There were numerous eye-catchers at the LOTTERIEN Sporthilfe Gala in the Wiener Stadthalle. "Krone" photographer Mario Urbantschitsch captured them with his camera.

Valentin Bontus was named Sportsman of the Year in Austria for the first time. The Olympic kitesurfing champion came out on top ahead of ski jumper Stefan Kraft and alpine skier Manuel Feller in the vote for the NIKI, organized by the sports journalists' association Sports Media Austria (SMA).

Prior to this, European javelin champion Victoria Hudson was crowned as an athlete and Olympic sailing champions Lara Vadlau/Lukas Mähr as a team at the Lotterien-Sporthilfe Gala in Vienna's Stadthalle.
