Israeli fighter jets bomb targets in Yemen

According to military reports, the Israeli air force has attacked targets in Yemen with dozens of fighter jets. The large-scale operation was aimed at facilities belonging to the "Huthi terror regime" in the Ras Isa and Hodeidah regions, the army announced.

Among other things, power plants and a port used for oil imports were attacked. The Houthi militia is said to have transported Iranian weapons and military supplies via the port, the army explained.

According to the military, the Israeli airstrike on Yemen - around 1,800 kilometers from the Israeli border - was carried out in response to the latest Huthi attacks.

On Saturday evening, another missile alert had been triggered in several areas in the center of Israel and in the coastal metropolis of Tel Aviv due to a projectile from Yemen. According to the military, the missile was intercepted before reaching Israeli territory.

Conflict in the Middle East continues to widen
According to its own statements, the pro-Iranian Houthi militia is carrying out its attacks in solidarity with the Islamist Hamas in the Gaza Strip, against which Israel has been waging war for almost a year.

Israel last attacked Yemen at the end of July. Israel's air force also targeted the port of Hodeidah in response to a deadly drone attack by the Houthi militia on Tel Aviv. A drone loaded with explosives crashed into a house in the center of the city. One man was killed and several people were injured.
