Worker injured while dismantling wooden cross

Serious accident at work on Friday morning in Tyrol! While dismantling an old wooden cross on the church square in Arzl im Pitztal (Imst district), a worker (40) crashed onto stone paving.

Shortly before 9.30 a.m. on Friday, three locals were busy dismantling an old wooden cross on the church square to replace it. "When a worker was in the process of attaching the transport loop to the wooden cross, the cross fell backwards and the 40-year-old fell more than three meters backwards onto the stone paving below," explained the police.

Taken to hospital
The worker was seriously injured. "After first aid, the man was taken to hospital in Zams by the Imst ambulance service," said the police.
