Republican as “black Nazi” on porn site

A Republican candidate for governor in the US state of North Carolina has caused irritation with disturbing statements on a porn website. Among other things, he referred to himself as a "black Nazi". 

Following the CNN report, he rejected calls from his own party for him to resign: "We're staying in the race," explained Robinson. He called the report on his controversial remarks "salacious tabloid lies".

Here, Robinson responds to the allegations in a video message:

Robinson stated he would "buy some slaves"
The station reported that Robinson had called himself a "pervert" and a "black Nazi" on a porn website called "Naked Africa" more than a decade ago. The African-American also wrote that slavery was "not bad ... I'd sure buy a few". In the current election campaign, there had also been criticism of older statements by Robinson in which he relativized the Holocaust and praised Adolf Hitler.

Trump spokeswoman evaded direct response
The politician is currently lieutenant governor of North Carolina, one of the most hotly contested swing states in the US presidential election campaign. He is supported by the Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. In response to a question about the CNN report on Robinson, a spokeswoman for Trump replied that the ex-president was focused on moving into the White House and saving the country. "North Carolina is an important part of that plan," she added.
