Ambulance crew stopped wrong-way driver

Thanks to the courageous intervention of paramedics, a wrong-way driver in the Innviertel region was quickly stopped. The driver from India ignored several warning signs and relied solely on his navigation system.

On Wednesday evening, a patrol from the Ried/I. highway police was called to the Haag/Hausruck exit on the A8 Innkreis freeway. The reason: a truck driver (43) from India who was traveling against the direction of travel.

Paramedics acted courageously
When the officers arrived on the scene, paramedics from the Obernberg am Inn local unit had already stopped the wrong-way driver, presumably preventing worse. The driver stated that he wanted to drive from Croatia to Germany and that his navigation system had shown him this route.

The wrong-way driver must expect a fine in the four-digit euro range.
