Hundreds of beer bottles scattered on the road!

A pile of broken glass in the district of Melk: a truck lost a considerable part of its cargo in a bend. Hundreds of beer bottles ended up on the road. It is still unclear how the accident occurred.

While the Pöchlarn fire department was preparing for upcoming storm operations, they received an emergency call to recover a truck.

The truck had lost a large part of its load on a left-hand bend in the Eisenstraße. This resulted in a considerable amount of beer crates and bottles being scattered across the entire carriageway.

The crates were then loaded back into the truck by hand.(Bild: FF Pöchlarn)

Due to the expected effort involved, the Pöchlarn building yard was immediately requested by the incident commander. They also arrived with a tractor, trailer and sweeper to clean the road. 

First, the beer crates were loaded back into the truck by hand. The broken glass was then loaded using a front loader and transported away. Why the van lost the load is still under investigation.
