Entered roadworks at red light: Three injured

Accident in a roadworks area! Despite a red traffic light, the driver of a pick-up truck in Navis, Tyrol, drove into a roadworks site - with fatal consequences! He collided with a small truck. The accident resulted in a total of three injuries. They were all taken to Innsbruck Hospital.

The accident happened on Friday at around 9 am. A local man (73) was driving a pick-up truck out of the valley on the Naviser Landesstraße coming from Navis. Despite a "red light", he apparently drove into a construction site and collided with a small truck driven by a 45-year-old man.

According to investigations so far, the man drove into the roadworks area despite the traffic light being red.

Both drivers and passenger injured
Both drivers and the 70-year-old co-driver of the 73-year-old were injured in the collision. They were taken to Innsbruck Hospital. The vehicles sustained considerable material damage.
