A 44-year-old woman from Flachgau wanted to sell her guitar online. An interested party quickly contacted her and involved the gullible woman in a lengthy online conversation. He eventually bought the musical instrument, but the seller transferred the money ...

 

How can anyone get involved? A woman from Flachgau recently offered a guitar for sale on an internet platform. A stranger contacted her shortly afterwards, wanting to buy the musical instrument. He asked for the woman's telephone number and suggested that payment be made via a special online system.

The 44-year-old woman was not familiar with this method, and the stranger then explained to her the alleged start-up and gave precise instructions. 

The woman received a link by e-mail asking her to enter her bank details. The woman followed the instructions and transferred several thousand euros. He then sent the woman a QR code. The woman from Flachgau was supposed to take a photo of it - that way she would get her money back.

This did not happen. On the contrary: the 44-year-old noticed that hundreds of euros had again been debited from her account without authorization. Now the woman went to the police. The investigation is ongoing.
