Fire department had to cut man out of car

Serious traffic accident on Thursday night in Mureck: a Hungarian driver drove his car off the road and crashed into a tree.

The Hungarian was driving on the B 69 towards Gersdorf at around 10 p.m. on Thursday. Presumably due to the weather conditions, he left the road on a long right-hand bend. He crashed his car into a tree and the fire department had to use hydraulic rescue equipment to free the 38-year-old from the vehicle. The man was injured to an undetermined degree and had to be taken to Graz University Hospital.

His white Opel was totaled. The B69 was closed to all traffic until shortly before midnight due to the clean-up work.
