Drama in Sardinia: Austrian biker dead

An Austrian motorcyclist had a fatal accident in Sardinia on Wednesday while riding on a road in Burcei in the south of the Italian island. For reasons that have not yet been clarified, the 62-year-old lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the crash barrier.

The Carabinieri confirmed that the man died instantly. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

There was no information about the exact origin of the Austrian. The road was closed for several hours due to the accident
