Crash with truck: child and three adults injured

Four people were injured in a serious traffic accident in the Tyrolean Oberland on Tuesday. The youngest victim is only four years old. The boy was sitting in the car with his mother (31) when the car was hit by a truck.  

The accident happened shortly after midday on the Mieminger Bundesstraße in the municipality of Nassereith. According to witnesses, a German (76) drove his car into the oncoming lane near the village of See-Eck and crashed into a truck driven by an Austrian (46).

The truck driver had tried to avoid the collision. This was not successful and resulted in the heavy vehicle ramming into the 31-year-old local woman's car.

Clean-up work took almost three hours
The 31-year-old and her son (4) as well as the German and his passenger (72) were seriously injured as a result of the collision. All four injured persons were taken to Zams Hospital. The truck driver escaped with a fright. All vehicles sustained considerable damage. The scene of the accident was only passable with difficulty and in some cases not at all until 3 pm.
