Around 2500 boys and girls in the fourth grade from 120 Carinthian elementary school took part in the qualifying competitions for the Children's Safety Olympics this year. Individual competitions tried and tested for 26 years
"The special thing is that the individual competitions have remained the same for 26 years. We were skeptical at first. But when you see how the children react and hug each other, and when you know that many an accident has been prevented as a result, we see that we are on the right track," says Anton Podbevsek, Director of the Carinthia Civil Protection Association.
The winners of the state final will represent Carinthia at the national final on June 20 in Vienna.
