Commitments to the army: “What is necessary will flow”

For the first time, Glödnitz was the venue for an army enlistment ceremony - and the municipality in the Gurktal valley was the guest of Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner.

She had some nice words for the 390 recruits on the soccer pitch in Glödnitz: "You need the support of all of us, because you are there for all of us."

As recruits, you are now taking responsibility for yourselves, your comrades and the Republic of Austria. Conscripts are the basis from which cadres and militia are recruited; without them, aid missions - such as the one in the earthquake region in Turkey - would not be possible

The three professional soldiers Stefan Hafner, Andreas Ladstätter and Dominik Pacher received the award for saving the life of a comrade, and the Minister also had words of encouragement for Carinthia.

Leonardo helicopter for Carinthia?
If the hangar remains at the airport, there is a good chance that one of the new Leonardo helicopters will be stationed there.

"In terms of mobility and equipment, everything will flow to the Carinthian associations according to need," says Tanner.

The Carinthian provincial government was represented by Governor Peter Kaiser and Provincial Councillor Martin Gruber. The ceremony was accompanied by music from the Carinthian military band.
