Drunk pensioner falls heavily on his bike

You can no longer rely on your sense of balance when you drink that much alcohol. This was the fate of a 65-year-old man from the Innviertel region. After a boozy night out, he wanted to cycle home. He fell heavily and lay unconscious. Passers-by looked after the injured man. He had 1.44 per mille in his blood!

The man from Braunau had perhaps filled up his tank on Saturday due to the heat. As he was planning to cycle home on his mountain bike, he would probably have been better off quenching his thirst with mineral water or juices.

In any case, the 65-year-old had massively misjudged his coordination skills. As he cycled in serpentine lines through a residential area of his home town, he touched a kerb. As a result, he fell heavily and remained motionless on the ground.

Passers-by found him and set the rescue chain in motion. When the Red Cross and police arrived shortly afterwards, the injured man was conscious again. He confirmed several times that he himself was to blame for his fall and that there had been no outside influence.

The pensioner was first treated by the emergency services and then taken to Braunau Hospital. A breathalyzer test revealed that the 65-year-old had 1.44 per mille in his blood. He will be charged.
