Ländle-NEOS make an embarrassing early start

Strict rules now apply to election campaigns in Vorarlberg. In addition to a cost cap, the display of election advertising posters is also strictly regulated. The "transparency party" NEOS, of all parties, has now violated these rules. 

In Vorarlberg, election posters for the National Council elections may only be put up four weeks before the election date. As the election is due to take place on September 29, the deadline would therefore be next Sunday.

However, it seems that the NEOS are not particularly familiar with basic arithmetic, as the Pinks have already put up around 30 posters in Bregenzerwald. As if that wasn't enough, Johannes Gasser, the leading candidate of the Vorarlberg NEOS for the national elections, had himself photographed in front of one of the posters - and posted the photos on social media for all to see.

"That was a mistake," says the pink man, who is now remorseful and simply got the date wrong. The posters have since all been removed - and the early starters have also reported themselves to the Bregenz district authority.
