Three injured and a dead dog in a car accident

Several vehicles were involved in an accident on the busy Eiberg Bundesstraße near Kufstein in Tyrol on Monday afternoon. Three people were injured and one dog died. 

Shortly before 2 p.m., a German (58) was driving his car on the Eiberg Bundesstraße (B 173) towards Söll. His wife (51) was in the car and his three dogs were in the trunk. In a bend, the driver skidded on the wet road, skidded into the oncoming lane and crashed into an oncoming car.

The driver was unable to take evasive action
A German woman (54) and her daughter (33) were also in the second car. Behind their vehicle was a 39-year-old local man. He tried in vain to avoid the cars involved in the accident, but his car crashed into the rear of one of the cars. 

The 54-year-old woman and her daughter suffered serious injuries in the collision, the 39-year-old suffered a shock. All three were taken to Kufstein Hospital. 

Two dogs ran away
While the German couple remained uninjured, one of their dogs suffered fatal injuries in the collision. The other two four-legged friends ran away because the tailgate had opened due to the impact. However, the animals were recaptured shortly afterwards.

The Eiberg federal highway was only passable with difficulty for around two hours for the clean-up work. The vehicles sustained considerable damage.
