Wild chase ended in noise barrier

An 18-year-old Bosnian did not want to pull over during a traffic stop in Steyr early on Saturday morning. He sped off until he lost control and crashed into the car of his passenger (21). Because he was not wearing a seatbelt, he was also injured in the accident.

"Please pull over" - the familiar request either left an 18-year-old Bosnian completely cold or made him break out in a cold sweat at around three o'clock in the morning on Saturday. In any case, he didn't comply and instead sped through Gleinkergasse, on towards Tabor and then onto Michael-Blümelhuber-Straße.

Not wearing a seatbelt
There he ended up on the left-hand side of the road and hit the noise barrier. The car was thrown onto the right-hand side of the road, where it came to a standstill on the sidewalk. To make matters worse, the 18-year-old was not even wearing a seatbelt, so he was thrown onto the back seat during the collision and lost consciousness.

Passenger remained uninjured
The owner of the car and passenger, a 21-year-old Italian from Steyr, who was wearing a seatbelt, remained uninjured. When the emergency services arrived, the driver was conscious again and received medical treatment. A security deposit was collected from him. He was also charged several times.
