After a lull: green light for 24 wind turbines

Despite the gas shock and ambitious climate targets: The expansion of wind power has stalled in recent years. Now a new large plant is being built in Styria and important decisions have been made in two approval procedures. But is that enough?

No tailwind for wind power! It has been a popular headline in recent years. Because although the expansion of renewable energy sources is the order of the day, progress has been slow. The provincial government's goal is to have no fewer than 250 wind turbines with an output of 1,000 megawatts in Styria by 2030. There are currently 115 - with an output of 307 megawatts.
