Kraft also wins 2nd competition of the summer opener

Stefan Kraft from Salzburg has won both opening competitions in the summer ski jumping Grand Prix in Courchevel!

After his victory on Tuesday, the overall World Cup winner in France triumphed on Wednesday with a 21.7 point lead over Fredrik Villumstad (NOR). Second best from the ÖSV team, which was at its best except for Daniel Tschofenig, was Jan Hörl in fifth place in the second competition. Manuel Fettner had finished fourth the day before.

"This is a nice snapshot. I'm very, very happy that everything has gone right since the start of training and a lot of things are going well," said Kraft, calling the summer competitions a "cool motivational boost in between". However, the next competitions will not take place for another month in Wisla, Poland.

An Austrian, Jacqueline Seifriedsberger, also stood on the podium both times in Courchevel in the women's event; the Upper Austrian came third and second. The Slovenian Ema Klinec and Sara Takanashi from Japan won by a clear margin.
