Ralf Rangnick makes his comeback as a TV pundit

Transfer coup for CANAL+! ÖFB team manager Ralf Rangnick will try his hand at a second job next fall and will offer his expertise during European Cup broadcasts.

This was confirmed at a media event in Vienna on Wednesday. Rangnick will be part of a team of experts including ex-Salzburg coach Niko Kovac, Union Berlin captain Christopher Trimmel, Robert Almer and Johannes Ertl. Stefan Oesen, the video analyst for the ÖFB national team, will also act as co-commentator.

Ralf Rangnick: "I'm really looking forward to my new role as an expert on CANAL+. As is so often the case in soccer, I can combine the pleasant with the useful. As team manager, the top matches in the Champions League are a must for me, especially those in which players from the Austrian national team are involved. I also really enjoy talking about soccer and giving the fans my impressions of the matches."

Oesen will make his first appearance next Wednesday at Red Bull Salzburg's Champions League play-off first leg against Dynamo Kiev in Lublin. The live broadcast will be the French TV channel's soccer premiere in Austria. Rangnick has already worked as a pundit for several German broadcasters, including Sat.1 and most recently DAZN.
