Alleged drug possession: Nelly arrested

Rapper Nelly (49, "Hot in Herre") has been temporarily arrested for alleged drug possession. According to the authorities in the US state of Missouri, four ecstasy tablets were found on the musician. There was also an outstanding warrant for his arrest from a previous traffic stop when he was driving without insurance.

The rapper, whose real name is Cornell Haynes and was born in Austin (Texas), was taken to a police station in Maryland Heights after the incident in the early hours of the morning, as reported by the portal "TMZ".

The Grammy award-winner was soon released.

Nelly has been married to US singer Ashanti (43, "Happy", "Foolish") since December 2023. In April, the musician announced that they were expecting their first child together.

Nelly is already the father of two grown-up children, and he also adopted two children of his sister who died of leukemia in 2005.
