Ex-ski queen Maria Höfl-Riesch calls it quits

Maria Höfl-Riesch's love affair is over: Germany's former ski queen and her husband Marcus Höfl have announced their separation.

"After careful consideration and with a heavy heart, we have decided to go our separate ways in the future," the two announced on social media. "Unfortunately, our lives have developed too much in different directions, but we will remain connected both professionally and as friends."

Marcus Höfl once worked as the manager of the double Olympic champion. A business relationship quickly turned into love.

"Had wonderful times together"
After 14 years together, it's now over. "We had wonderful times together and will always have fond memories of them together," they wrote under their post.
