Dangerous chase through Graz

A drug driver (28) had a chase with the police through the city of Graz last Friday. He is believed to have endangered several people and demolished cars. Victims should please come forward. The driver himself does not want to remember anything.

An emergency call was received at around 3 pm on Friday. The reason for this was a driver who was endangering people with his unsafe and risky driving, the police press office announced on Tuesday. Several patrols were alerted. The driver was on Dietrichsteinplatz and continued his journey in the direction of Kaiser Josef Platz/Glacisstraße. After a short pursuit, the fugitive was stopped in Petersgasse.

Rescue team insulted
He was a 28-year-old from the district of Voitsberg. He behaved extremely aggressively towards a Red Cross crew and stated that he had not consumed any alcohol or addictive substances. According to him, he could not even remember driving the Audi.

A breathalyzer test carried out was negative. However, the examination by the police doctor revealed that the 28-year-old was under the influence of drugs at the time of the dangerous drive.

Only saved by jumping
The man from western Styria is believed to have endangered several people with his driving, who, according to witnesses, only saved themselves by jumping onto the side. Due to several damages to the getaway car, it can also be assumed that the driver may have caused several traffic accidents with his black Audi.

The possible route according to police reconstruction: Münzgrabenstraße - Dietrichsteinplatz - Kaiser Josef Platz - Glacisstraße - towards Petersgasse.
