Hedgehog rescued

"Animal mission" as part of the expansion of the electricity infrastructure. A hedgehog was trapped in a shaft. The construction workers showed heart and carefully rescued the prickly fellow.

In order to cope with the increasing feed-in of solar and wind power into the domestic grid, the electricity infrastructure needs to be expanded considerably, as reported. This work has already begun in the Korneuburg district at the substation in Stockerau's Senningerstraße.

Heavy machinery stopped

And it is thanks to the Netz NÖ employees working there that an animal tragedy did not occur. "During excavation work, our colleagues discovered a small hedgehog in a shaft," reports project manager David Decker. The heavy machine was stopped immediately and the prickly fellow was brought to safety. The hedgehog was then released into the wild in a nearby wooded area and can roam through nature again.
