Moped rider (88) crashes into wall and dies

After a tragic traffic accident with a fatal outcome, the Innsbruck police are looking for possible witnesses. An 88-year-old local man had an accident with his moped, the pensioner died the next day.

The terrible accident had already occurred last Wednesday, July 31. At the time, the 88-year-old local man was riding his moped eastbound on Rumer Straße in Innsbruck.

Crashed into a concrete wall
"At Rumer Straße 20, the man crashed into the concrete wall there for unknown reasons. The man sustained serious injuries as a result," reported the police on Monday.

Please report witnesses and first responders
The pensioner was taken to Innsbruck Hospital, where he died of his serious injuries the following day. As the cause of the accident and the background are still unclear, the police are now looking for witnesses.
