Vacant building in Graz-Puntigam on fire

On Saturday afternoon, the professional fire department was alerted to a fire in a farm building in Graz-Puntigam. The crew of a rescue helicopter had noticed heavy smoke developing as it flew over. 

When the first firefighters arrived, flames and smoke were already billowing from the wooden façade of an empty farm building. The fire was quickly extinguished by a comprehensive fire-fighting operation using several pipes. 

A large tank fire engine was used to secure the water supply at the scene and a supply line was set up. The building sustained considerable material damage. No persons were injured. The professional fire department attended the scene with 8 vehicles and 30 firefighters. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the police.
