German woman (82) fell into stream bed while hiking

A hiking trip by two German pensioners (82 and 74 years old) in Tyrol on Friday ended in hospital for one of them. The 82-year-old stumbled and fell around 15 meters into a stream bed.

The two women were on a hike on the hiking trail in the Königstal valley in the municipality of Gurgl on Friday. "At around 13:30, the 82-year-old stumbled for unknown reasons around 150 meters before the "Top-Express" lift station and then fell around 15 meters into a stream bed," said the police.

Injured person was flown to hospital
After initial treatment by the crew of the rescue helicopter, the woman was flown to Zams Hospital with serious injuries.
