Pedestrian (65) hit by car and injured

Serious traffic accident on Sunday evening in St. Johann in Tirol (Kitzbühel district). A driver (38) had overlooked a pedestrian and hit him. The 65-year-old local man had to be taken to hospital.

Shortly before 10 p.m., the 38-year-old Austrian was driving his car on Brauweg in St. Johann in Tirol, coming from the train station and heading towards the village center. "Suddenly he noticed a pedestrian stepping onto the road from the right", according to the police.

Accident despite emergency braking
The driver braked immediately, but still hit the 65-year-old head-on, causing him to fall onto the road. After first aid, the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
