18-year-old overslept the search for him

At the exact spot where a 73-year-old swimmer was found dead in the water the day before, helpers had to fear the next drama on Lake Attersee. On Saturday night, an 18-year-old disappeared after trying to cool off in the lake. But this time everything turned out well.

"Where is he?" - During a party in Schörfling am Attersee (Upper Austria), a group of teenagers took a detour to the lake. An 18-year-old jumped "into the water". After he didn't come back, his friends became worried and raised the alarm.

The Schörfling fire department, water rescuers from Nußdorf, Unterach, Weyregg and Litzlberg, plus the Red Cross and the police arrived at around 3.30 am. And searched for the missing man in the Schörfling marina. Just where a family had discovered the body of a drowned 73-year-old Regauer during a boat trip the day before.

Harbor illuminated
Under the jetties, between the boats - the helpers illuminated the marina and searched every conceivable corner. But the missing man was nowhere to be found, so they had to expect the worst.

But then, shortly before 4.30 a.m., the all-clear was given. The drunk lad was found, healthy - and now awake again. He had gone ashore at a different spot on the shore and had laid down between the cars in the parking lot of Kammer Castle to let off steam. In other words, he literally slept through the search for him.

No consequences
There will be no consequences or costs for him on the part of the emergency services, everyone was just glad that the search had ended happily. How the parents, who were allowed to take him home, reacted is not known - as the boy is of legal age, he was only left at home.
