Ex-team player Goiginger returns to Linz

Offensive player Thomas Goiginger is back playing in the Austrian Bundesliga. Specifically, the 31-year-old former team player has joined FC Blau-Weiß Linz, as the club announced on Friday. 

Goiginger was already on the pitch for the Blue-Whites in the 2016/17 season, then spent a long time at local rivals LASK Linz and most recently at VfL Osnabrück, with whom he was relegated from the second Bundesliga in Germany.

In addition to his vast experience, both nationally and internationally, he brings with him an irrepressible will and mentality, and above all a great deal of goal-scoring ability," explained sporting director Christoph Schößwendter according to the transfer announcement.

Goiginger said that after a mixed season, there had recently been very respectful discussions with the Linz management and a lot of trust in his person. "The team did well last season in the promotion year and I want to do my bit to be successful," he added.
