Richard Lugner is recovering from his heart operation. "I'm already back home", the 91-year-old master builder gave the all-clear on Thursday.

The newlywed master builder underwent surgery at Vienna General Hospital on Friday due to an enlargement of a ruptured heart valve. However, thanks to the doctors' special procedure, no major incisions in his body were necessary, according to Lugner.

Procedure using the clip method
The procedure was carried out using the clip method via the vein, which is used to operate on the heart through the skin instead of cutting open the body. "That's the great thing about this method, but only a few people do it," he said.

Incidentally, the Opernball zamapno revealed to the "Krone" on Wednesday that he is already in good spirits again. And that he is already making plans for the future.

"Back at the dam in mid-September"
After all, he and his wife Simone still want to receive a church blessing from cathedral priest Toni Faber. That was planned for the fall. And he is likely to stick to it, as he showed himself to be combative: "I'll be back on the dam by mid-September!"
