Meadow caught fire during mowing work

A meadow in Bürserberg caught fire in a rather unusual way on Monday afternoon. The cause of the fire was the hot exhaust pipe of a mowing machine. 

A 33-year-old man was working on hay on a steep slope when he suddenly slipped with his hand mower. The machine got caught in the mown grass. As the machine's exhaust was very hot, the grass and the mower subsequently caught fire. 

50 square meters of meadow on fire
The fire spread quickly. Soon an area of around 50 square meters was on fire. However, it was quickly extinguished by the firefighters from Bürs and Bürserberg.
