Worker fell from concrete base into the depths

A serious accident at work occurred on Monday morning in Ellbögen near Innsbruck. A 51-year-old worker was seriously injured. The man fell more than four meters from a concrete base. 

The 51-year-old was working on a construction site on Ellbögener Straße. The accident happened shortly after 9 a.m. "For reasons as yet unknown, the man fell around four and a half meters into rough terrain", according to the police.

The fallen man came to rest with serious injuries. Colleagues immediately set the rescue chain in motion. The 51-year-old was rescued by the emergency services and flown to Innsbruck Hospital in a rescue helicopter.
