Kremlin now threatens Europe’s capitals with missiles

Following the announced deployment of long-range US missiles in Germany, the Kremlin warned on Saturday that Europe's capitals could then become the target of Russian missiles.

"Europe is a target for our missiles, our country is a target for US missiles in Europe." He added: "We have the capacity to keep these missiles at bay, but the potential victims are the capitals of these European countries," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov threatened on Saturday.

Another step "towards the Cold War"
This is a further step "towards the Cold War", explained Peskov (pictured below). He also accused the USA, Germany, France and the UK of direct involvement "in the conflict surrounding Ukraine".

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov had already stated on Thursday that Russia's security would be compromised by the deployment of US long-range missiles in Germany. Moscow would respond with military measures.

US long-range weapons in Germany
The USA and Germany announced in a joint statement on Wednesday that new US long-range weapons, such as Tomahawk cruise missiles and hypersonic missiles currently still under development, are to be stationed in Germany from 2026. This is intended to serve as the USA's contribution "to integrated European deterrence".

"Serious capability gap closed " 
According to German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, the US government's decision to station long-range weapons in Germany from 2026 closes a "serious capability gap" in Europe.
