A fire broke out in an unoccupied apartment

A fire alarm was triggered shortly after midday on Wednesday in Wattens in Tyrol. A fire had broken out in an unoccupied apartment. A neighbor had to be evacuated due to the heavy smoke. 

It is not yet clear why the fire broke out in the currently unoccupied apartment in an apartment building. The fire investigators are at work. In any case, the damage is considerable.

What had happened? The alarm was raised at around 12.20 pm. The fire had started in the kitchen area. Thick smoke was billowing out of the windows. The fire department had to deploy with heavy breathing protection and evacuate a neighbor.
