Katharina Aufreiter from Paudorf in the district of Krems at the foot of Göttweig Abbey tends special orchards.

"There's definitely an elf floating through my apricot orchard," smiles Kathi Aufreiter mysteriously. She brought the mythical creature to life a little while ago in her delightful children's book "Lilli Marilli, looking for a home". "She found it in my little orchard at the foot of the Göttweiger," assures the hard-working fruit farmer from Paudorf near Krems.

What makes her fine, genuine and now magnificently ripe Wachau apricots even better: Everything comes from a delicate hand - from the grafting of the trees and the care of the orchards to the harvesting and careful processing of the truly heavenly fruit.

Guided tours and adventure tours
You can immerse yourself in this small universe on guided tours. "We particularly look forward to welcoming young visitors as part of the 'School on the Farm' campaign. And there is also our Wachau apricot experience tour, where we also open the doors to a new show farm and thus directly into production," assures Aufreiter. Little elf you have it good with her ...
