Crashed down a three-meter embankment on a moped

A swimming trip by two girls in Vorarlberg ended with a trip to hospital on Tuesday - the two fell down an embankment on a moped. 

Two 16-year-old girls rode a moped to the Bregenzerach in Langenegg (Vorarlberg) to go swimming. When they arrived at the bathing area, the rider leaned her vehicle against a wall and an embankment respectively. 

When they wanted to leave the Bregenzerach again, the rider got on the moped and started the engine before her passenger got on. Suddenly, the 16-year-old lost her balance when starting off and then lost control of the moped. Together with her friend, she fell down a three-meter-high embankment. 

Both suffered injuries
The passenger was freed from her predicament by friends who were present at the time and rescued from the rocky bank. She was then taken to Dornbirn hospital by her friends. Unfortunately, the driver was less fortunate and had to be first treated by the emergency doctor and then rescued by the Müselbach and Lingenau local fire departments. The young woman was taken to Bregenz Hospital with serious injuries.
