Car versus truck: serious accident claimed two lives

Dramatic scenes unfolded on Tuesday afternoon on the B60 between Weigelsdorf and Pottendorf. They cost the lives of two men who crashed into a truck in a car.

For reasons as yet unknown, a fatal head-on collision occurred between a truck and a car on the B60 between Weigelsdorf and Pottendorf on the afternoon of July 9th. Two men were traveling in the car when they collided with the heavy vehicle. 

Men died at the scene of the accident
Both men in the car were rescued from the vehicle by fire and rescue services, according to an initial report. They were unconscious and had to be resuscitated by paramedics and emergency doctors. Unfortunately, their efforts were unsuccessful. The driver of the car and his passenger died at the scene of the accident. The truck driver was uninjured in the collision.

Sonja Kellner from the Lower Austrian Red Cross confirmed the tragic accident. The exact course of events and the identities of the fatalities could not yet be determined. The fire department, the Workers' Samaritan Federation, the Red Cross and two emergency helicopters were deployed. The B60 was temporarily closed in the area of the accident
