Fire in Graz apartment: 15-year-old raised the alarm

A 15-year-old was home alone on Saturday morning when he noticed flames in his apartment in Graz-Lend. He called for help from two neighbors - all three had to go to hospital due to possible smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is still unclear.

Shortly before nine o'clock on Saturday morning, a 15-year-old in the Lend district of Graz raised the alarm: he was alone in the apartment when the smoke alarm started beeping. It seems to have started burning in the area of the socket behind the television in the living room.

The teenager quickly called his mother and called neighbors for help. They alerted the emergency services. The 15-year-old and the two neighbors (52 and 24) later had to be taken to hospital due to suspected smoke inhalation. It is still unclear why the fire broke out. The apartment is currently uninhabitable due to the damage.
